Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the formal acknowledgement of competencies a person has, regardless of how when or where the learning occurred.  Credit Transfer (also called advanced standing) is the granting of credit by an institution or training organisation to students for courses or units of competency (subjects) completed at the same or another institution or training organisation.
