WHS Act Changes
On 1 January 2012, the Federal Government introduced changes to the Work, Health and Safety (WHS) Act (previously OH&S) which will have major implications on the not-for-profit (NFP) sector. Crucially, the inclusion of “volunteers” under the definition of a “worker” will have a significant impact in how NFP organisations operate.
The School of Volunteer Management has developed this time-sensitive WHS workshop suite to assist managers understand their legal responsibilities for themselves and their organisation, under the changes to be introduced by the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
Tailored to not-for-profit and community organisations, this workshop series covers all you need to know about the new legislative changes and how they apply to you and your organisation using relevant industry examples and activities. The WHS workshop suite is made up of two workshops:
- WHS Act Changes – What You Need to Know (1 day workshop)
- WHS Act Changes – What You Need to Know and Do (2 day workshop)
